Nurse Practitioner Journey

Updated: Sep 13, 2019

I took a hiatus to commit myself to a goal that I knew would pay off in the future. I am pleased to announce that I have been accepted into graduate school to pursue my Master of Science in Nursing. Your girl is going to be a Nurse Practitioner!

I have been accepted into both Family Nurse Practitioner and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Programs. My goal is to practice in the Obstetric/Gynecology field, which I can do with either degree.

*drumroll please*

I will be attending Drexel University of Philadelphia in the Fall! I will complete my Women’s Health/Gender Related Nurse Practitioner degree at one of the top Research Universities. Drexel is also home to an amazing law school, medical school, and now home to your new favorite Nurse Practitioner Student!

I couldn’t type this without thanking God. This waiting game has been the ultimate test of my faith. I can truly say that what God has for you, no man can take away. My friends and family can attest to the fact that I have driven them insane over the past few months about graduate school. I had to be reminded that you don’t have to chase what’s sent by God.

Going into this, I knew that Georgetown University was where I would attend graduate school, and that was my only option. However, God sent me down a different path and I am so grateful. I went back and forth about choosing programs but I feel as though Drexel will be the perfect fit for me based off of their mission and values.

This is a huge step for me in my nursing career, and I look forward to you all following me throughout this journey.
