Help Me: Foundation Search

Updated: Sep 13, 2019

A solid foundation routine is important and I believed mine was perfect until my foundation stopped cooperating. I have combination skin (when some parts of your face are dry, while the center part of your face, nose, chin, and forehead (called the T-zone) is oily) and that's where it gets tricky.

The only drug store brand that worked was the Revlon® ColorStay™ for Combination/Oily Skin which promises to stay intact for up to 24 hours. This makeup was my go-to, perfect shade, perfect price, and most importantly kept my face uniform throughout the day. This unfortunate issue that I have been having with it is that it has been having a cakey appearance especially around my nose which is both dry and oily depending on its mood. I have tried various brands including Maybelline®, CoverGirl®, and MAC® with no success. I had used a simple routine for the past few months which consisted of drug store foundation but with Milk of Magnesia (an oily girl's best friend) as a primer for my T-Zone, yet this doesn't give me a smooth coverage to my face anymore for some reason.

I would love a foundation that is full coverage but is not too heavy. If anyone knows a foundation or BB cream that would work on combination/oily skin please go to the comment page and let me know! Nobody wants to be a "cake face", so I would appreciate the help :)
