It’s officially Spring, or shall I say “Flower Crown Filter” Season and I’m done living under my rock known as Winter! I live for the days that the sun is back in full effect (minus the pollen and allergies), below you'll find my FIVE S's to make your Spring season spectacular!
Sensational Scents
Spring is the perfect time to revamp your scent collection. I love light floral scents for the season and they always serve as the perfect transition into summer!
Gucci Bloom
I’ll advise this as the spring substitute for Gucci Guilty. The classic scent of Guilty meets Spring without the “old lady” hint that some floral scents offer. Bloom definitely lasts all day, and I received compliments by everyone I walked past! It’s on the pricey side but the gift set will make the perfect addition to your collection (Sephora also offers a Roll-On version for about half the price).
This is another scent I’ve been admiring lately, plus who can get over the adorable bottle! This provides another spring floral scent but with a crisp freshness that’s hard to put my finger on. The Marc Jacobs “Daisy” line continues to expand and the entire perfume collection is perfect for the season, I guarantee you’ll fall in love with at least one of them! This is also a bit pricey, and is sold at all major department stores as well as Sephora. Macy’s offers a mini spray for only $27!
Island White Sand
Bath & Body Works has hit the jackpot with White Island Sand ! This is such a light, girly scent that has a tropical vibe to it. It’s perfect for everyday wear and at $14.50 a bottle you can afford to splurge on the lotion too.

Snazzy Sneakers
Spring loves to surprise us with the weather, April showers surely do bring May flowers (this is true unless you’re in North Carolina where it feels like it snows every week). I’m too pressed for sandal season, but it’s not quite time for me to pull them out yet, so sneakers are going to have to do the job for now!
Adidas Superstar
You can never go wrong with the classic Black and White Adidas Original Superstar sneaker. This sneaker is so versatile and can be dressed up or dressed down, I swear they match everything! From denim on denim, to a sundress, options are truly infinite. Lacking inspiration? Search Pinterest for thousands of outfit pairings! I will definitely continue to buy these every year.
Gucci
Gucci has made a huge comeback, and they have definitely outdone themselves with their winter and spring collections. The “New Ace” Low Top Sneaker has to be one of my favorites. They are a great lighter, casual sneaker, and the floral design screams Spring. However, the price isn’t for the faint of heart at $730 a pair, but as Drake said, "You Only Live Once, That's the Motto!"
Stylish Sundresses
It’s sundress season! If you can’t tell, I’m excited... life is so much easier when you can throw a dress on, versus lugging out a North Face. Sundresses also lend to infinite outfit options, you can really wear one anywhere. I guarantee there is a sundress for any occasion you may encounter this season. I’ve included a few on my favorite spots to shop for dresses.

I don’t know about y’all, but my skin goes through THE MOST due to season change. My face is either extra dry or extra oily, and I always have to work so hard to get it back on track when we get back to the Spring’s humidity. One product that always does wonders is the Neutrogena Visibly Even collection. The Foaming Face Wash is a gentle exfoliatee that gets rid of the buildup and dry spots, while leaving my face with an overall moisturized quality. Unfortunately, they have recently stopped making the Face Wash even though it had amazing reviews! After following up with the moisturizer, I have a natural glow to my face without being oily. This collection does wonders at renewing the quality of your face, and does amazing at getting rid of darks spots and scars. I have continued using the moisturizer despite not being able to purchase the face wash this year, in combination with the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser which works to balance the pH of your skin.
I highly recommend purchasing the moisturizer to give you that nice summer glow after this harsh winter weather.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: there is nothing like a good book in times where scrolling on Instagram counts as a news source. We have become so wrapped up in technology that it sometimes becomes overwhelming, a good book can definitely help to escape from reality.

This entertaining “self help”guide will really give you a new outlook on living your best life. We all want to be the best we can be and achieve all the goals we've set out to achieve, this book will help. I highly recommend this for EVERYONE to read, it’s truly motivating!
We’re Going to Need More Wine
Gabrielle Union took my love of her to a new level with this book! She has stories hitting on every topic from her relationship with Dwayne Wade to losing a friend to cancer. This book is an emotional rollercoaster and will touch every aspect of your life. It's a must read for everyone (seriously), especially women of color! As an African American woman, there are issues we face in life that only another woman of color could understand and she touches on EVERYTHING!
