Motivation: The Best Me, I Can Be

Updated: Sep 13, 2019

Trials and tribulations seem never ending at this point of life. We are all trying to figure out who we are or who we want to be at a time where is seems like everyone else has it together. But I'm here to tell you, everything that glitters isn't gold. Don't worry about keeping up with the Joneses, because the Joneses are probably in the same boat as you. You have to worry about being the best YOU that you can be.

I recently read that "God takes you on a journey you didn't know you needed, to bring you everything you've ever wanted." This touched me in a special way, because we often question why we are in a particular situation or why things aren't quite coming together like you intended; but it comes down to trusting God, and having faith in the plan that was already predetermined for us. You have to take the hand you are dealt, and play it like to the best of your ability, while praying for your day to come.

What's for you, will never pass you. What you may be reaching for could be for Sally or John, so no wonder [insert name] hasn't received it. God may have something totally different in store for you, take everything as a sign and know he is guiding your every move.

Watch who you surround yourself with, don't let anyone bring negativity in your life to dim your light. Once you let negativity in, you'll see yourself slipping further and further from your goal. Sometimes you have to be alone and see yourself in a vulnerable state to figure out who you really are. You can't say you're doing something to make so and so proud or to look good for your friends, because at the end of the day, you should be doing things to make yourself proud, to make yourself wonder how you deserved so many blessings.

We have to change our perception to change our direction. We have to stop talking about people and looking down on people. Encourge someone, let them know they are doing a good job. Tell someone they're a beautiful, let them know that what they are doing doesn't go unnoticed. We shouldn't be competing with the person next to us, but uplifting them and ensuring we all succeed. It's plenty of opportunity to go around, no need to be greedy or selfish. Just one small change in your day could be the motivating force you need to be a better person.

Things may not always go your way, and sometimes you may feel like it's too much to bear. Know that God would never put more on you than you can handle. Take a good look in the mirror and say "I am strong, I am capable, and I can do all things through him." Strive everyday to be the best YOU, that you can be and watch your life flourish abundantly
